The second (and final) day of birding in Phoenix started at the heavily birded Gilbert Water Ranch, and there were a good many folks there on Memorial Day morning with binocs and cameras. My mom and I strolled around the ponds. I didn't add any lifers but got a better look at Curve-billed Thrashers and got to watch several herons wading up close.
After about two hours in Gilbert, we drove over to the Veterans Oasis Park for a quicker look around.
Then it was back to the house for some movies and relaxing--also grabbed a few shots of the doves nesting in the backyard.
